Mother Nature truly greets you as you reach the summit of Mount Webb. Set on 3 acres you will experience the serenity and breathtaking panoramic views of Mount Webb and Mount LeConte.  It’s rare location which borders the Great Smoky Mountain National Park affords you the luxury of being able to walk straight from the cabin into the Forest where you can be at one with all that nature has to offer.  From the decks you can see the spectacular scenery for at least 60 miles, a sight that will stay with you forever. 

Appreciated by mountain climbers, hikers and whitewater kayakers for its panoramic views overlooking the Great Smoky Mountains. Big Bear Lodge offers spacious and sumptuously furnished lodging not only for those who love the spectacular scenery, but also for those who appreciate the fine restaurants, attractions, and shopping in Gatlinburg, only 12 minutes away. 

Big Bear Lodge has a 120 meter driveway ensuring your privacy and seclusion. A gated entry offers you security, and ample parking is available for large groups. A wide foyer greets you as you enter Big Bear Lodge, just after you cross the covered rear deck that protects you from the weather as you unload your luggage and prepare to relax from your trip. This gorgeous mountain authentic “big log” lodge impresses as you approach, and takes your breath away as you enter the living area overlooking the unbelievable view.

Beyond the foyer, the huge living area flows outward from an 18 foot stacked stone fireplace with gas logs and a 37” HDTV Flat Screen. Seating is provided by a large wrap around sectional leather sofa and recliner, and an upholstered queen sleeper sofa.

The living room view through a 25 foot cathedral glass and beam wall will stop you in your tracks.  Say hello to Old Smoky standing in the corner, he’s a 7ft cedar black bear carving made by one of our local artisans. We promise he won’t bite you!

To the left of the living area is the spacious dining area with glass walls overlooking the forest and mountains. The ornately carved dining table seats 10, there is additional seating for 4 at the kitchen counter just beyond, and other additional seating for all your guests needs throughout the cabin.

A fully equipped kitchen welcomes the host with granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances, including 2 stoves for the gourmet cook, plus a microwave, dishwasher, and refrigerator.  Just off the kitchen is the laundry room including washer and dryer.

 
To the right of the living area is a 16 foot by 15 master king bedroom suite with an ornate wrought iron bed, large dresser, and a 20” Direct TV / DVD VCR, 2 end tables with lamps, a 7 foot closet, and a stuffed leather easy chair. You will love the private door to the deck from this king master suite! The suite includes a spacious bath with a whirlpool tub and a stone tiled shower for 2.

The 10 foot wide main floor deck wraps around the north, east, and south sides of the lodge, with the main view being the Great Smoky Mountains to the south. This deck has several nicely finished rocking chairs with side tables that you will find very hard to leave.

Upstairs are 2 more king bedrooms with private baths and walk-in closets. Each bedroom has 2 end tables with lamps, 20” Direct TV / DVD, comfortably stuffed easy chairs, a large chest of drawers, and an unbelievable view overlooking the mountain climbers’ paradise.

The loft between the two upstairs bedrooms offers spectacular views, a queen sleeper sofa, and a distressed leather easy chair. It’s the perfect little nook to relax between activities, and maybe send an email or two with the free Wi-Fi offered or maybe write a postcard to friends and family, I’m sure they will wish they were there with you.

 Downstairs, the awesome game room dominates the scene with a 7 foot billiards table, another 37” HDTV Direct TV / DVD, a stacked stone fireplace, distressed leather queen sleeper sofa, air hockey, foosball, pub table with 3 chairs, and a wet bar with double sink, and full size refrigerator and microwave. There’s a cassette / 3 disc changer and the latest in electronic video games, the “Arcade Legends” game center.
“Arcade Legends” includes Tempest, Missile Command, Battle Zone, Major Havoc, Millipede, Centipede, Super Breakout, and Asteroids.

There is also a half bath in the wet bar area for the convenience of those enjoying the action.

To the right and left of the game room are huge bedrooms, each with 4 queen over queen bunks, private baths, and large walk-in closets.

You can step right out from the game room to another wide deck on this lower level, where you can relax in several more rocking chairs and enjoy the view of a lifetime.
Out on this lower deck is a massive hot tub seating 7, with 20 jets massaging your cares away as you enjoy the stunning natural scene of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
